Why did you choose to run the ABN AMRO Marathon Rotterdam?:

This is my first marathon, and since it is one of the flatter marathons, I thought it would be a good course for a first attempt. Also, I have always wanted to visit The Netherlands, and this gives me a good opportunity to do so!

How did you first hear about the marathon in Rotterdam?:

A few of my running friends have run this marathon and have recommended it highly.

Have you previously taken part in Rotterdam?:

No

What are your expectations of the forthcoming ABN AMRO Marathon Rotterdam?:

My main hope or expectation for this marathon is to finish in under four hours - and to experience some great Dutch hospitality!

Do you run alone, with you partner or with a group?:

Usually alone, but sometimes with my husband.

How long are you staying in Rotterdam and what do you want to see in the city?:

I expect to stay in Rotterdam for about three days. I would like to go to some of the great museums with my kids, ascending the Euromast Tower and getting a glimpse of the beautiful Erasmus Bridge.

What would you like to say (in your own language) to other people who are running or would like to run the marathon in Rotterdam?:

To all fellow South African runners I would like to say: "Sterkte julle almal en moenie ophou nie!"
