Why did you choose to run the ABN AMRO Marathon Rotterdam?

We are visiting my wife's sister in London & my daughter in Amsterdam next year. As I've never run an International Marathon we thought it would be nice to include one next April 2012.

How did you first hear about the marathon in Rotterdam?

In a magazine - Runner's World.

Have you previously taken part in Rotterdam?

No

What are your expectations of the forthcoming ABN AMRO Marathon Rotterdam?

We're hoping to enjoy taking part in such a large event while taking in the Netherlands sights and hospitality of it's people. We also hope to qualify in under 5hrs for Comrades. As we believe it's a flat course it should be easier as we're finding it more difficult each year to qualify. 

Do you run alone, with you partner or with a group?

Usually we run together as that is how we met - in a training group in 2009/2010. However when one of us are having a really good run we cheerfully wish the other a 'good run' and go ahead.

How long are you staying in Rotterdam and what do you want to see in the city?

3/4 days & not sure what we are doing but my daughter will arrange a few excursions.

What would you like to say (in your own language) to other people who are running or would like to run the marathon in Rotterdam?

We are hoping to meet people from all over the world and to have a really memorable run.
